The metering on the SRTs is transferred from the shutter speed dial to the little paddle and the shutter speed indicator in the viewfinder by little cables - the same cable transfers ISO info, so no point in setting on the camera unless you are using the meter. If you want to push the film, just plug the desired ISO into the equation (and remember to adjust development as appropriate). ISO is one term in the sunny sixteen equation, which basically says that on a sunny day at f16 you shutter speed should be ther reciprocal of the ISO. The light meter is out of the picture (sorry). At that point adjusting the ISO dial is pointless. If the other needle doesn't move when you adjust camera you effectively don't have a working light meter. The ISO dial biases the meter, shifting the position of one of the needles. You adjust the aperture and the shutter speed so that the two needles line up. The only connection between the light meter and the ultimate exposure is the photographer aligning those two needles. One needle is connected to the light meter, the other is coupled to the shutter speed dial and the aperture ring. I’m not sure if my ISO dial will actually change at all.

Camera Repair They did an excellent CLA on my much-cherished Minolta SR T. The light meter needle itself does react to changes in light. The actual shutter works fine at the various labeled speeds. The internal shutter speed indicator is also broken. Everything works except the “follower” that moves as you change the shutter speed to align with the light meter needle to get the correct exposure. The SRT-102 was my dream camera for most of my childhood. The SRT-102 was the fancy model of the SRT-100 and SRT-101.

CLC uses two CdS photocells in series to expose for the darker of two segments. I have a nearly fifty year old Minolta SRT 101 that I recently pulled out of the closet. Minolta then added Contrast Light Compensation, CLC, to give correct exposure in contrasty light.
